Close to the cycle path is the Hessische Landgestüt, which looks back on a long and successful tradition in horse breeding. You may be in time for one of the magnificent stallion parades or for spring's foals. The time-honored stud farm welcomes every guest and is not only worth a visit for horse lovers.

Herborn-Uckersdorf Bird and Nature Park is just 7 km from the Herbornerburg Burg. The small detour is worth it. You reach the idyllic park via a climb from the center of Uckersdorf. Here live about 70 species of birds and many other animals such as kangaroos, tamarin and the animals of the children's farms. Give yourself a break in the cafe garden with a sun terrace or take the free zoo tour with the zookeeper.

Back in Burg, continue on the Dilltalradweg to Herborn - a lively half-timbered town with restaurants, bistros, cafes, ice cream parlors and a picturesque pedestrian area with many small shops and boutiques. Continue through the Dilltal. High above the valley floor, the mighty ruins of Greifenstein Castle keep watch.

The route winds on to Sinn, Dill, Katzenfurt, Dillheim, Ehringhausen and on to Werdorf. Werdorfer Castle houses an attractive museum. In the'Tante-Emma-Laden\\\' you can still shop as before. Opening hours: every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month.

From the young town of Asslar on the edge of the Westerwald, it is only a few kilometers to Wetzlar, located at the mouth of the Dill in the Lahn. You can comfortably end the route in the historic old town with its beautiful half-timbered houses. Highly recommended is a Goethe-inspired city tour. Those who want to stay can cycle from here via Lahntalradweg to Bad Ems.
