Hiking at Hierden

At Hierden you can take a wonderfully varied walk. This route takes you through a succession of open grasslands, farmlands and the forests of the Veluwe.

The Veluwe
You can walk straight into the rural area around Hierden, where you will find some characteristic old farms. The Veluwe beckons on the horizon. With a small climb you can quickly walk into this vast nature reserve. And you will notice that immediately: it is wonderfully quiet here! Ideal for a chat or to relax.

Station Hulshorst
It is nice to continue on the Veluwe, you mainly walk between fragrant conifers. Just as you leave the Veluwe, you pass Station Hulshorst on the track. This beautiful former railway station dates from 1863 and was built at the behest of a local landlord. At the time, a few people of standing had their own entrance gate to the platform. To the left of the station is a sign with a poem about the building.
