Forests that seem to never end, vast moors and special heritage: you will find it all in the Veluwe. Get on your bike and enjoy your trip through one of the most beautiful regions of the Netherlands.
Elspeet Heath
The route starts at la Familglia. You drive straight into the vast forests of the Veluwe. Nice on the bike path through the fresh forest air, enjoying nature and the silence. Then it seems like the miles fly by. On the Elspeetse Heide you have a beautiful view over the plain from the saddle. Further on you pass Elspeet with its characteristic old farms.
Estate Staverden
A little later you drive past Landgoed Staverden. Centuries ago this was built as the beginning of a city. That plan fell through, fortunately there are still some beautiful old buildings. On the edge of the Ermelose Heide you have a beautiful view of the area. In the landscape you can still see the contours of the only Roman marching camp that the Netherlands has known. At La Famiglia you can enjoy a delicious meal.
