Old estates
You cycle into an area where four old estates border each other. They form a beautiful mix between arable and grasslands, deciduous and coniferous forests and heathland. There are also several old extraction farms here. From the cycle path you can enjoy the view, but also the peace and quiet.
Defense Channel
You drive a bit along the Defense Canal, which is located here on the border of Brabant and Limburg. The canal was part of the Peel-Raamstelling, a Dutch defense line that was constructed in 1939. The position, which was weakly occupied for tactical reasons, fell after a short but heavy battle on May 10, 1940, the day of the German invasion. Finally, De Stippelberg and the Bakelse Plassen are on your route. Even more Brabant natural beauty!
