Tour of Zierikzee from Burgh-Haamstede

A beautiful route past beautiful towns full of history, water and nature. Variety is key!

Historical Zierikzee
From the ring village of Burgh on Schouwen-Duiveland you cycle to the Oosterschelde, where you can get a breath of fresh air. You will pass the Schelphoek nature reserve and a lookout tower, the Plompetoren. A little further on you cycle the Zierikzee within the Havenkanaal. The fifteenth-century Zuidhavenpoort on the Oude Haven is a beautiful thing, it used to protect the southern harbor entrance. In the open-air museum Museumhaven Zeeland you can see some beautiful old ships. What a beautiful varied route!

Green Schuddebeurs
A little further on you cycle through the small village of Schuddebeurs, beautifully hidden in the greenery. In the Golden Age, capital houses with associated parks were built here, and in recent decades forests were created. A little later you can enjoy the connected villages of Burgh and Haamstede.
