Description
Ruurlo and Borculo are two surprisingly charming old towns in the Achterhoek. Ideal for exploring by bike. In the countryside you can enjoy the Achterhoek scenic landscape.
Ruurlo Forestry
In Boswachterij Ruurlo you pass the largest hedge maze in the world. Do you dare? Further on is Ruurlo Castle, in the town itself you can take a tour through the historic core. You will see Agneta, a beautiful mill that is named after a lady from the family that inhabited Ruurlo Castle for centuries.
Historic Borculo
In the scenic landscape of the Achterhoek you can fully enjoy the peace and natural beauty. You drive through Lochem, a charming town on the Berkel river. A little further on you will see this river again, this time in Borculo. On the quay of this town you can see some beautiful monuments, such as the Stone Table, a water mill from the eighteenth century. A little further away is the Crystal Museum, which is located in the former town hall from 1887.
