Kalenberg-Netherlands-Kalenberg

Kalenberg.

Kalenberg is a small tourist village located in the middle of National Park Weerribben-Wieden in the province of Overijssel. The Kalenbergergracht runs through the village. 

Route.

The route starts at the parking lot in the village of Kalenberg. From here you can follow the orange arrows. 

Via the bridge in the center you reach the other side and turn left. Along the banks of the Kalenbergergracht you pass small bridges and beautiful farms. 

The walking tour starts outside the buildings. If you go straight ahead, the path meanders between the canal and reed beds and swamp forests. 

Before the'Ant Water\\\' restaurant you will pass a large peat lake. 

After this built-up corner, turn right over an unpaved dike and the path winds through the reed lands to the village of Nederland. Here are connections to various other hiking routes. 

Just outside the village is a bird hide which offers a beautiful view over the reed lands and canals. If you are lucky you can observe cormorants, great egret, crested duck, bean goose, stork, etc. 

After the vogehut you walk through the swamp forest back to the starting point of the walking tour. From here you can walk back to the center of Kalenberg.
