Get a breath of fresh air in Willemstad

This route takes you through Willemstad, Klundert and Steenbergen: Brabant towns with a rich cultural history. In the countryside it is nice and quiet to cycle through a wide landscape of fields and creeks. Your route starts at Fort Bovensluis, a fortress from 1862. Noordschans is named after the former Fort Hollandia, which was lost in a flood in 1682. Just before junction 34 you will see some sixteenth-century defenses on the edge of Klundert. They were part of the Defense Line of the Hollands Diep. You cycle through the Dintel river basin through some characteristic villages. Stop at De Fendertse Hoeve for a cup of coffee on the Kadedijk! In Wouw you can admire some beautiful buildings on the old Market, and you can also see the fifteenth-century St. Lambertus Church here.
