Historical tour along the Maas

You start near the Maas above Den Bosch. You cycle along the canalized Dieze into the nature reserve around the Engelermeer. Here you can fully enjoy the varied nature, a mixture of swamp forests, reed beds and cultivated land. The Maas leads you a little later to many nice places, such as the old village of Bokhoven and the fortified town of Heusden. Here you follow the star-shaped pattern of the fortifications around the city, special! You cycle back along the northern bank of the Maas. On an old arm of the Maas you pass the beautiful fourteenth-century Kasteel Nederhemert that has been extensively restored. Here you can take a seat on a terrace at Café restaurant Treurenburg. Or stay for a dinner and a drink to end the day well!
