Tour of Utrecht from IJsselstein

After a short cut through the Nedereindse Plas, you will soon be on the other side of Nieuwegein at the Lekkanaal, which leads you to Utrecht. You cycle past Lunet I and Lunet 2, part of the four Lunettes on the Houtense Vlakte. This higher area was protected by the Lunettes, which together form one defense structure. Here you cycle through the watery Beatrix Park and along the Leidse Rhine. You immediately drive into the polder via the Meern. There you pick up the Oude Rijn to Harmelen, where you will see some centuries-old stately buildings and farms. A nice varied route!
