Tour of Utrecht from IJsselstein

After a short cut through the Nedereindse Plas, you will soon be on the other side of Nieuwegein at the Lekkanaal, which will lead you to Utrecht. You will cycle along Lunet I and Lunet 2, part of the four Lunetten on the Houtense Vlakte. This higher area was protected by the Lunetten, which together form one defensive structure. Here you will cycle through the water-rich Beatrixpark and along the Leidse Rijn. Via the Meern you will cycle straight into the polder. There you will pick up the Oude Rijn to Harmelen, where you will see several centuries-old stately buildings and farms. A beautiful varied route!
