Cycling through Arnhem and the forests

Arnhem is surrounded by beautiful estates. The first few kilometers will give you a real workout, cycling through the natural surroundings of the Schaarsbergen Estate and the Zypendaal Estate. The beautiful Zypendaal House originally dates from 1764. Further on, you'll cycle along the edge of Sonsbeek Park to Arnhem's city center. From junction 86, you'll pass through Stadsblokken-Meinerswijk, a floodplain area that has been developed in recent years. Here, you'll see a fascinating contrast between riverside nature and the Arnhem skyline. You'll cross the Rhine by ferry, and a few kilometers further on, you'll pass the 13th-century Doorwerth Castle, which is definitely worth a visit. West of Renkum, you'll enter the woods again. You'll enjoy miles of fresh air and tranquility. The route ends at the Groot Warnsborn Estate Hotel.
