Cycling between Gulpen and Maastricht

From Gulpen, you descend towards the Meuse after a few kilometers. You'll pass through Sint Geertruid, and shortly after, you'll enter Eijsden. Along the Meuse bank, you'll find beautiful monumental buildings from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. On the other side of the river, you'll cycle through the Belgian towns of Ternaaien and Kanne, after which you'll cross the border again. You'll enter Maastricht through the Jeker Valley. Stop here occasionally to soak up the historic atmosphere. From the thirteenth-century Sint-Servaas Bridge, the oldest bridge in the Netherlands, you'll have a magnificent view of the surroundings. Via Bemelen, you'll cycle to the hamlet of Sint Antoniusbank. The well-preserved old buildings make it seem as if time has stood still here. The route ends with a drink on a terrace at Gasterij De Poort.
