Fun in Oostduinkerke
Don't immediately get on your bike and pedal hard on this route, but take the opportunity to view beautiful sights in Oostduinkerke. Right at the start of the route you can immediately take a look at the Navigo - National Fisheries Museum. Here you can learn more about Flemish sea and coastal fisheries. Furthermore, a farmers' market takes place here every Friday where you can taste and buy all kinds of tasty regional products. Soak up the cozy atmosphere of this market and immediately stock up on something tasty for on the road or at home.
On the road through the dunes
Also visit the Estaminet De Peerdevisscher for a beer or a tasty snack from the North Sea. From Oostduinkerk you cycle through the interior to Koksijde. You then cycle through the De Doorpanne dune area back to the starting point of the route.

Shrimp fishermen regularly give demonstrations on the beach of Oostduinkerke. It is a beautiful sight when the fishermen come out, so be sure to take some time to see it for yourself. This form of fishing is unique in the world and is recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Nowadays, shrimp fishing is still practiced by about fifteen fishermen.
