This route takes you from restaurant De Arend through Winssen and the Winssen Waarden. At the start, you'll already see one of the landmarks along the way: the St. Anthony of Padua Church, dating from 1938. The church was built in the Delft School style. Just before you turn left onto the dike, you'll see a mansion from the second half of the nineteenth century on your right. From the dike, you have a beautiful view of the meadows and the Waal River. In the distance, you can see the Tacitus Bridge, named after the Roman historian who first wrote about this region. On your right stands a monumental dike warehouse from 1910. The floodplains are a wonderful place to unwind: what tranquility! Back in Winssen, you'll pass the Beatrix Mill from 1848 and the fifteenth-century Old Church Tower.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
