The charm of Walcheren

You will never get bored of Walcheren. You will find historic towns such as Middelburg and Veere. In the wide Zeeland polders and through the greenery along the Veerse Meer it is wonderfully peaceful to travel for miles.

Picturesque Veere
Gapinge is a characteristic Zeeland village. You pass the Mariakerk, a beautiful building from the fifteenth century. A little later you will see the Graanhalm, a flour mill from 1864. Further on, it is time to take out the camera again, because you will pass through Veere: one of the most beautiful and pleasant fortified towns in the Netherlands. You can admire beautiful monuments, such as the Grote Kerk from 1348. The town hall with its beautiful facade dates from the fifteenth century.

Historic Middelburg
You can drive back to Middelburg at your leisure through the polders. Take the time to soak up the rich history here and view the monumental buildings, such as the mansions on the old harbor.
