Description
From the starting point you drive through a vast landscape and old villages to Blauwestad. You can admire this modern and unique example of landscape design from your bicycle. Wide views over the water alternate with young forests. The route leads you past several sights, such as characteristic Groningen farms and churches. The church in Nieuwolda does not have a weathercock on the top, but a mermaid as a reference to the land that has been reclaimed from the sea. After getting off you can have a nice stroll around Termunterzijl: this town enjoys a protected village view.
