In the Kempen country around the Belgian Meeuwen you can make beautiful bike rides. This route takes you through the varied landscape and along historical sights.
Old watermill
The route starts at De Dorpermolen. This cozy catering location is located in a centuries-old water mill on the Abeek. A beautiful place, because it is considered a protected village view. You cycle a few kilometers through the slightly rolling stream valley, a wonderfully quiet nature reserve. Further on you cycle through a mix of forest and heathland to the village of Wijshagen. In the hamlet of De Rieten you can visit an archaeological park with 2500 year old burial mounds.
Stream valleys
Below Peer you will cycle through a series of stream valleys, meadows and small forests. It is wonderful to cycle for miles through this varied landscape. An ideal area to leave the hustle and bustle of everyday life behind and recharge your proverbial battery. You will regularly pass an old farm worth seeing. The route ends again at De Dorpermolen. Stretch your legs here and enjoy a well-deserved drink and snack.
