Provided by: route.nl
A beautiful route through the Winterswijk National Landscape. You cycle through a mosaic of grasslands, forests, stream valleys and hedgerows. What immediately stands out here: the peace and quiet!
Corn maze
Just across the border you will pass the Beuting family's corn maze in season. Worth a visit. The labyrinth has a different figure every year as a route through the corn. It is wonderful to travel for miles in the Winterswijk National Landscape. The area seems to have been specially designed for cyclists! You can still see some former Scholte farms in this region, such as on the Geldereschweg just before Meddo.
Stray boulder
In Meddo there is a boulder weighing 38,000 kilograms near the canteen of the local football club. The last part of the route takes you through Winterswijk. There is a boulder weighing 43,000 kilos near the old town hall of Winterswijk: it is the largest boulder in the Netherlands. By the way, he was found in Meddo. On the edge of Winterswijk you will pass De Bataaf, a restored flour mill that was built here in 1801.
