Provided by: route.nl
A beautiful route through National Landscape Winterswijk. You cycle through a mosaic of grasslands, bushes, stream valleys and wooded banks. What immediately strikes you here: the tranquility!
Just across the border you pass the maize labyrinth of the Beuting family during the season. Worth a visit. The labyrinth has a different figure every year as a route through the corn. In National Landscape Winterswijk it is wonderful to drive for miles. The area seems to have been specially designed for cyclists! You can still see a few former Scholte farms in this region, such as on the Geldereschweg just before Meddo.
In Meddo there is a boulder weighing 38,000 kilograms at the canteen of the local football club. The last part of the route takes you through Winterswijk. Near the old town hall of Winterswijk is a boulder weighing 43,000 kilos: it is the largest boulder in the Netherlands. Incidentally, he was found in Meddo. On the edge of Winterswijk you will pass De Bataaf, a restored flour mill that was built here in 1801. The route ends at Camping Erve Hesselink.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
