Ferry
You depart from Ophemert, near the Waal. The river area is a wonderful cycling region. You can get a breath of fresh air on the banks and enjoy the view over the river. Along the route you will see some beautiful old buildings and mills, such as the De Bol mill from 1867. At Varik you cross the Waal with a ferry - holiday feeling at its best!
De Waal
This beautiful watery route takes you close to the banks of the Waal, wonderful for a summer day. This mighty river, like the Lower Rhine, is a branch of the Rhine, but the Waal carries by far the most water. That is why you see many large ships here. Another fun fact: Tiel, which you cycle through towards the end of the route, was founded in 850-1100. It is one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands!
