Get a breath of fresh air in West Brabant

North Brabant may be known for its vast forests and heathlands, but you will also find extensive polders that are reminiscent of Zeeland. The soil here consists mainly of fertile marine clay. The influence of the sea can also be seen in the creeks that you encounter in this region. From your starting point you cycle along the Scheldt-Rhine Canal, opened in 1975, to't Wagenhuis in Nieuw-Vossemeer for a cup of coffee. Further on you drive through Het Laag and Het Oudland, two special wet nature reserves. The Blauwe Sluis is a lock complex from 1822, the lock master's house dates from 1835. Just before the end of the route you cross the Steenbergse Vliet. Here you have a beautiful view of the bird-rich nature reserve the Dintelse Gorzen and the Volkerak.
