This route is all about enjoying nature. Stop off at the Birdwatching Point on the expansive Beuven! It's the largest fen in the country, situated on the largest heathland in the southern Netherlands: the Strabrechtse Heide. The nature reserve stretches between the Brabant villages of Geldrop-Mierlo, Someren, and Heeze. The area is beautifully diverse thanks to the many fens. In the middle of the nature reserve, the heathland transitions into a carefully maintained drifting sand area. At the Waschven, you'll have a good view of grazing Scottish Highland cattle. Then, cycle to the Papenvoortsche Heide, part of the Stiphoutse Bossen. Here, you'll cycle through fragrant coniferous forests. Take a break along the way at Restaurant De Hommel! You'll return via the Bakelse Bos.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
