Tour of Castle East and Valkenburg

Your route starts at De Zoete Zoen. Plan a whole day for this walk, as you'll pass all sorts of lovely spots to visit. Museums, castles, caves—you won't get bored! From your starting point, you'll walk straight into the woods. Passing under the Wilhelmina Tower, you'll head towards the Geul River. You'll make a lovely loop through the greenery via Geul Park and Kasteel Oost. From here, you'll walk straight into the charming town of Valkenburg. Take some time to visit the Regional Museum Land van Valkenburg. Right on the Geul River is Kasteel Den Halder, a fortified residential tower that once stood against the medieval city wall. Your return walk will pass Gemeentegrot Valkenburg—another great spot for a break!
