On foot through nature near Bussum

A stately residential area and the peace and ruggedness of a quiet nature reserve: you combine them with this walk through Bussum and the woods of the Naardermeer. Put on waterproof shoes, because the path around the Naardermeer can be damp.

Toward Lake
From Bussum you walk towards the Naardermeer nature reserve. At the edge of the lake you walk through a forest of alders - on a boardwalk! When you come out of the forest, you look out over damp meadows full of flowers. Back in the forest you pass a path that leads to a bird hide over the Naardermeer. You can take a look here and enjoy the silence.

The Mirror
From the hayfields you walk towards the Hilversumse Meent: a suburb of Hilversum. From the edge of this district you have a beautiful view over the polder. A little later you walk back into Het Spiegel, the famous villa park in Bussum. This district was developed between 1874 and 1940 and enjoys a protected village view. You will see many beautiful monumental buildings, such as Art Nouveau villas. And you might run into one of the many celebrities who live here.
