A day of cycling through the polders of North Holland. That means enjoying sweeping views, old villages and colorful bulb fields.
Bulb area
It's nice to travel for miles along the banks of the Amstelmeer. Surfers can often be seen on this lake, which once formed the transition between the Zuiderzee and the Wadden Sea. In addition to high Dutch skies, you can also enjoy the splendor of colors of many flowers. No wonder: around Anna Paulowna there is the largest contiguous bulb area in the world.
Old Sluis
Old Sluis was once a mooring place for VOC ships that sailed out to sea via the Marsdiep. Due to the construction of the Anna Paulownapolder in 1846, the picturesque village was permanently cut off from the sea. In the distance you can see the Groote Kaap lighthouse looming on the horizon. This steel tower is almost seventeen meters high and is still used to signal water traffic. The route ends at Camping Waddenzee.
