A beautiful varied walk through the Herpse Bossen. Along the way you will discover the beautiful fens for which this nature reserve is known.
Herpse Woods
This walk takes you through the Herpse Bossen, which, together with other nature areas, forms the largest piece of continuous nature in Brabant: De Maashorst. The Herpse Bossen is a wonderful walking area, where you can spot wild Exmoor ponies and Scottish Highland cattle. Nature here is very varied with deciduous forests, heaths, fens and sand drifts. Perfect for a summer walk when the heather is in bloom, or to enjoy autumn colors in the fall.
fens
On the second part of the route you will encounter the beautiful lakes that attract many hikers to the Herpse Bossen. First of all you see the Groot Ganzenven, a natural fen that has been restored to its former glory. The Klompven, a little further on, is a recreational lake that was created by sand extraction during the construction of the A50.
