A walk along the water near Almelo

The route starts in Enter. After a cup of coffee at Brasserie R-1854, you hop on your bike. You'll soon find yourself alongside the meandering Midden Regge. The river landscape here is known for its "wandering" rivers. On the outside of the bend, the land erodes, while on the inside, sand is deposited. In this way, the Regge keeps moving. You'll also cycle for a while through the Notterveld, a scenic landscape of fields, meadows, and forests. Further on, you'll pass through Wierden, a beautiful and charming village. Beeklustpark is a little paradise with a Green Flag Award. This British award is given to parks that are welcoming, environmentally friendly, and preserve ancient landscape features. The typical Twente village of Bornerbroek is beautifully situated amidst fields and meadows, oak forests, heathlands, and fens.
