From Camerig to Vijlen

What comes from far away is tasty: the Geul is perhaps at its most beautiful just before the Belgian border, in the extreme southern tip of the Netherlands. You walk along the beautifully meandering Geul from Camerig to the hamlet of Cottessen, which is located in one of the most beautiful landscapes in the Netherlands. After a steep climb you reach the Vijlenerbos. Every now and then you have views into the Belgian valleys, a little further on to the hills around Vijlen. In the middle of the forest you can make a stop at the cozy Boscafe't Hijgend Hert, at an altitude of 260 meters. Back at the Rozenhof campsite and restaurant, you can also enjoy the terrace - or stay the night, there is much more to walk here!
