Description
What a wonderful nature route: you cycle straight through the forests of the Veluwe. Along the way you will discover a number of special gems, such as an old water mill and the highest waterfall in the Netherlands.
Loenense waterfall
Via Klarenbeek you drive to the Middelste Molen, a water mill from 1887 that now serves as a paper factory and museum. Further on you drive into the vast forests of the Veluwe. Just above Loenen you will discover the Vrijenbergerspreng: here you cycle close to the Loenense waterfall. This is the highest waterfall in the Netherlands, intended to reduce the flow in the stream. This has a drop of up to 15 meters over a length of 6.5 km!
Veluwe forests
This is a really beautiful nature route. You can leisurely find your way back to your starting point in Beekbergen through the woods and along the heath. It is wonderful to travel for miles between the fragrant conifers and old deciduous trees.
