Description
Beekbergen is a picturesque village just below Apeldoorn. A wonderful base for a bike ride across the Veluwe!
Equestrian Mill
Before you drive onto the Veluwe, loosen your legs around the lovely Beekbergen. Just outside the village you will pass the beautiful old Ruitersmolen, a water mill dating from 1606. In the attic you will find an exhibition about the time when the mill was used to create paper. The beautiful Beekbergen VSM (Veluwsche Stoomtrein Maatschappij) station is located in the adjacent village of Lieren. Shall we take a ride on the steam train tomorrow?
Deelen Air Base
It's wonderful to travel miles on the Veluwe. From the gently sloping cycle path you will sometimes be treated to views over the heath, other times you will ride between the fragrant conifers. Ideal if you want to switch back to nature for a day. Further on, at Hoenderloseweg 10, you can visit Deelen Air Base Museum at the weekend.
