Tour of the Achterhoek: Varsseveld and Sinderen

Discovering the Achterhoek! You wind through the village of Breedenbroek and the green scenic landscape of the Achterhoek to Sinderen. Just outside the village you will find the beautiful St. Anthony's Chapel. In the 12th century, a wooden chapel was founded here by the owner of Huis Sinderen, but when it was destroyed by a storm in 1660, a stone chapel was built. A little later you meander along a narrow cycle path through the Achterhoek nature. Further on you will discover the Varsseveldse kopps: on the high kopps of the cover sand ridges around Varsseveld, fields were planted that only grew higher due to centuries of deep litter fertilization. Now you will find a small-scale mosaic of high fields, forests and standard orchards. Wonderful cycling area!
