Meandering through Twente

After a refreshing overnight stay at your starting point, Camping aan het Twentepad, you set off. Did you also hear the little owl and barn owl that nested on the yard last night? You drive through the famous Twente coulisse landscape of rolling fields, woods and fields bordered by hedgerows. The slower you drive, the longer you enjoy the refreshing Twente peace. Via Tubbergen, Albergen and Weerselo you meander through the beautiful Twente green to Ootmarsum. Ootmarsum is one of the most beautiful towns in Twente. One of the first Twente churches was built here, around 770. The town flourished in the Middle Ages thanks to a lively trade, but saw industrialization pass it by. You drive back to your starting point through a beautiful green rolling landscape - the road you are driving on is not called Ladderken for nothing!
