Cycling route Woerden, Bodegraven and Nieuwkoop

Fancy a day of cycling through a typical Dutch landscape? Then drive this route through Woerden, Bodegraven and Nieuwkoop. First you drive through the polder to Woerden. Here you will see, among other things, Woerden Castle, which dates from 1417. Further on you pass the Windmill, a flour mill from 1755. Then you cycle along the banks of the Oude Rijn, the river that once formed the northern border of the Roman Empire. Fort Wierickerschans is a nice sight from 1673. You cycle to Nieuwkoop via Bodegraven and Zwammerdam. You have a beautiful view over the rippling water of the Nieuwkoopse Plassen. Further on you will pass through Woerdense Verlaat, a centuries-old hamlet on the Grecht.
