Description

On the Grebbeberg it is wonderful to walk through the quiet deciduous forest. Walking along the foot of the steep edge you look out over the water and see some overgrown bastions from 1785. You climb back up to enjoy a beautiful view. You will also find an old ring rampart here where the King's Table is located. You can take a look at the Grebbesluis before you walk along the Valleikanaal into the Gelderse Vallei. The landscape here is suddenly flat and vast! Heimerstein Castle was completely destroyed during the Battle of Grebbeberg in 1940. The castle was rebuilt in 1946, although not in the old style. Through the woods on the Laarsenberg you return to the starting point:'t Paviljoen Rhenen (Bar/Lounge, Restaurant & Hotel).
