Along old Overijssel estates

In Salland you drive through a beautiful mosaic of streams, forests, grasslands and arable fields. You also pass through the forests of therechterse Veld. And you pass some centuries-old estates.

Old village pump
During the first kilometers you cycle past no fewer than four centuries-old estates. You drive through the forests of the Reelaer and past't Rozendael. The English gardens of the Colckhof and Den Alerdinck were among the first in Overijssel in that style. In the center of Heino you will see another nice sight: an authentic village pump. According to an old legend, the pump only gives water to people with a clear conscience.

Rechteren Castle
In hamlets such as Hessum andrechteren you will see some beautiful Saxon farms. On a dead arm of the Vecht you pass the beautiful Judgeen Castle: the only medieval castle in Overijssel that is in very good condition despite the ravages of time. In picturesque Raalte you can admire the neo-Gothic basilica from 1892.
