The cozy Oostburg, small villages, creeks and old defense lines: this bike tour shows you all the beauty that rural Zeeuws-Vlaanderen is known for!
Passageway
You will soon cross the Passageule, also called the Line because there used to be a defense belt here against the Spanish troops. Oostburg, a little further away, is the cozy center of West Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. At 55 meters, the water tower is the highest point in the area.
Boerekreek
This route also takes you into Belgium to view a beautiful water area: the Boerekreek. This is Meetjesland, a real polder area where the battle against the sea has left clear traces. On the creek you will see many boats from the nearby water sports center. Something beautiful awaits you in Sint-Jan-in-Ermelo: the cute St-Jan De Doperskerkje, a single-aisled church. Small, typical Zeeland-Flemish villages such as Waterlandkerkje then lead you back to Schoondijke.
