Description

North Brabant is known for its vast forests, but it also boasts many square kilometers of expansive polders with marine clay soil. This route lets you discover a different side of Brabant. Via Zevenbergschen Hoek, you'll travel to Lage Zwaluwe, where Kerkstraat still exudes the atmosphere of times gone by. From the dike, you'll enjoy a beautiful view of the Amer River. At junction 63, you'll find the Gat van Den Ham, a creek formed by the St. Elizabeth's Flood of 1421. Cycle through the polders to the charming old village of Drimmelen. At Het Panorama, you can enjoy a cozy terrace, after which you'll cycle via Den Hout to Terheijden. Here, you can catch a glimpse of the Kleine Schans, a fortification dating back to the Eighty Years' War.
