Historical walk from the Jaarbeurs

The Jaarbeurshal is located in a beautiful spot in the center of Utrecht. Quickly put on your walking shoes and take a detour through the historic streets of the city center of Utrecht.

The star
The route starts from the Jaarbeurs. The establishment of this event hall has its origins in the First World War. At the time, the Jaarbeurs became the central place to trade in the Netherlands. Along the quay you will then pass the large building of the Royal Dutch Mint, where Dutch Euro coins are minted. On the Leidse Rijn you will pass De Ster, a mill that stands on the only completely preserved sawmill yard in the Netherlands.

Oudegracht
The Oudegracht is a cultural-historical highlight in the Netherlands. The system of wharves and wharf cellars is unique in the world on this scale! You will also see many beautiful buildings, such as Stadskasteel Oudaen. This building has preserved its medieval appearance very well. Then you walk back to the Jaarbeurs via Hoog Catharijne.
