To make a walk? Put on your walking shoes for this beautiful walk through the pleasant paper town of Apeldoorn.
Paper mill
Apeldoorn is a real paper city, a long time ago many paper mills could be found here and the paper industry is still fully present here. The first discovery on your route is therefore the seventeenth-century windmill De Bouwhof, the most complete of the numerous paper mills that once milled in the water here. The height difference from the Veluwe was ideal for water mills. You will also pass the CODA Museum, where exhibitions center around jewelery and paper art.
Museum route
During this walk you will also come across a nice small museum: In de Zevende Hemel, a museum about Dutch festivals and traditions. At the end, your walk will lead you through Kinderparadijs Malkenschoten, on the former estate of the same name. Started as a petting zoo, it has grown into a fun play park, a beautiful green area to end your walk. You start and end your route at Restaurant Malkenschoten. Got hungry? Here you can enjoy delicious pancakes!
