Two birds with one stone: the nice city of Apeldoorn and the beautiful IJssel valley! By bike you can easily explore the most beautiful spots of this versatile area.
Apeldoorn
Your route starts in the countryside, just above Twello. First you discover the village of De Vecht. You can clearly see that it has developed from the crossroads: around 1700 there was a rest stop here that was used a lot by traders from the emerging Hanseatic cities. You drive into Apeldoorn via a beautiful rural route. You pass the CODA Museum where exhibitions are central to jewelry and paper art.
Pancakes
Apeldoorn is a real paper city, long ago there were many paper mills here. Further along the route you will discover the seventeenth-century mill De Bouwhof, the most complete of the many paper mills that once milled in the water here. Then it is time for a stop at Restaurant Malkenschoten. Feeling hungry? Here you can enjoy delicious pancakes! On the way back to the starting point you can spot planes and parachutists at Teuge airport. Variety galore!
