Walking through the forests and fields near Sevenum

Just outside Sevenum lies a mix of small-scale nature reserves and a rustic farmland. Put on your walking shoes and discover the charm and tranquility of this area.

Heesbeemden
The Heesbeemden is a striking nature reserve. From a distance you can see the elevation in the landscape: it is not a hill, but a former landfill that was closed in the seventies. You walk through a swamp forest of alders and willows, here and there are still small meadows and ponds. While walking you have a good chance of spotting butterflies and birds, they occur here in large numbers.

Alley Mountain
In Kronenberg you pass the monumental village church from 1931. In the countryside is the Kronenbergerhof, a historic farm whose history dates back to the fifteenth century. You walk a bit between the fragrant conifers of the Steegberg, it is wonderfully quiet here. A little later you walk through the rustic farmland of the Groot Veld.
