Description
Just outside Sevenum is a mix of small-scale nature reserves and a rustic farm landscape. Put on your hiking boots and discover the charm and tranquility of this area.
Heesbeemden
The Heesbeemden is a striking nature reserve. You can see the elevation in the landscape from a distance: it is not a hill, but a former rubbish dump that was closed in the 1970s. You walk through a forest of alders and willows, here and there are still small meadows and pools. While walking you have a good chance of spotting butterflies and birds, they come here in large numbers.
Steegberg
In Kronenberg you will pass the monumental village church from 1931. In the outlying area is the Kronenbergerhof, a historic farm whose history dates back to the fifteenth century. You walk a bit between the fragrant conifers of the Steegberg, it is nice and quiet here. A little later you walk through the rustic farm landscape of the Groot Veld.
