Tour of Germany from the Achterhoek

With this route you will explore the eastern Achterhoek and the border area with Germany. You cycle through the typical coulisse landscape of this region, a beautiful cycling area. Then you cross the border and enter Germany. In this sparsely populated border area you cycle through a varied landscape of streams, vast meadows and small-scale forests. Enjoy nature in peace and quiet! In the border village of Dinxperlo you will find the beautiful Sint-Liborius church, the tower dates from 1400. The Schüttensteiner Forest is a relatively natural forest, just across the German border. You cycle back via the inn'Brüggenhütte\\\' on the Aa, right at the border crossing. This used to be a popular meeting place for Dutch and German customs officers and smugglers. The tour ends with a drink on the terrace at Restaurant van Hal.
