Description

With this route you explore the eastern Achterhoek and the border area with Germany. You cycle through the typical bocage landscape of this region, a beautiful cycling area. Then you cross the border and drive into Germany. In this sparsely populated border area you drive through a varied landscape of streams, vast meadows and small-scale forests. Enjoy nature in peace and quiet! The beautiful St. Liborius Church is located in the border village of Dinxperlo, the tower dates from 1400. The Schüttensteiner Forest is a relatively natural forest, just across the German border. You drive back via the inn'Brüggenhütte\\\' on the Aa, right at the border crossing. This used to be a popular meeting place for Dutch and German customs officers and smugglers. The tour ends with a terrace at Restaurant van Hal.
