Cycling through the nature around Panningen

Discover the nature around Panningen with this enjoyable adventure route. Warm up your legs as you cycle through the valley surrounding the Groote Molenbeek stream. Further on, you'll pass through the Crayelheide, a nature reserve consisting of grasslands, forests, and a stream valley. You'll also cycle a considerable distance through the Heldense Bossen, a long woodland area largely planted on drifting sand dunes. In the heart of the forest, you can stop at Branie Helden for a delicious snack and drink on the terrace, after which the route takes you to the villages of Helden, Panningen, and Beringe. Via Grashoek, you'll travel to Helenaveen, the southernmost peat village in the Netherlands. Here, you'll see several old, historic buildings reminiscent of the peat extraction era. You'll return to the parking lot via the Gelderse Heide.
