Special cities to explore
The starting point of this route is at Leinefelde. The landscape here consists of wooded ridges and valleys through which the river Leine meanders. During this trip you cycle for the most part along the course of the Leine. You cross the former border between East and West Germany. Among other things, you will get to know the university town of Göttingen, where daily life is determined by students and scholars. Göttingen has an atmospheric historic city center surrounded by medieval ramparts. Be sure to take a look there. You then cycle on to the half-timbered town of Northeim, where you can visit the famous puppet theatre.

The Lüneburg Heath
Then you cycle on to Hanover and Hamburg. You will cycle through the enchanting Lüneburg Heath Nature Park, the largest contiguous heathland in Central Europe. You can enjoy the Wilseder Berg here, among other things. In Hannover you can take a look at the Erlebnis-Zoo Hannover, the Sprengel Museum Hannover and the Niedersächsisches Landesmuseum Hannover. You can also view the UNESCO World Heritage Fagus Work along the way. You end your tour in the middle of Hamburg.

Wildpark Schwarze Berge
A bit before you cycle into Hamburg, you will pass through the Wildpark Schwarze Berge. This wildlife park consists of mountains, valleys, a lake and several ponds. In this park you will find a variety of animals and plants. Think of roe deer, deer, bunnies and otters. On the forest trail you can learn more about nature in all its aspects.
