Beekdal Koningsdiep

The starting point is Beetsterzwaag, a village with noble allure and the heart of the estate zone. You cycle through forests, along heathland, over the Koningsdiep, through the stream valley landscape towards Terwispel.

NB: from Beetsterzwaag you can also take the shortcut over the Zandlaan, the dirt road to the right opposite Harinxma State.

After Terwispel you cycle along a canal on which peat used to be transported. Because now you come in'turfstekersland\\\'. Via Tijnje and the ferry'at the Ulesprong you can via It Damshus in Nij Beets to De Veenhoop.

NB: after the crossing with the ferry you can also make a shortcut to De Veenhoop via de Gearen and the Kraenlanswei - shorter and quieter.

After the Veenhoop there is a beautiful stretch through meadow bird area, past petgaten, mill de Hercules and the water of the Wijde Ee. After Smalle Ee it becomes bushier again and via it Maer you return to the 7 woods of Beetsterzwaag.
