Walking through the woods near Tienray

Your route starts at IJssalon Clevers Tienray , a nice place for an ice cream or a cup of coffee. In the forests of Tienraijse and Swolgenderheide you walk on a slightly sloping path. Where once there was heath and drifting sand, you now walk among the fragrant conifers. You also see some tufts of heather. It is nice to walk through this quiet nature reserve. Then you continue walking through the Schuitwater. In this varied nature reserve you will find alder forests, open water and moist grasslands and hay meadows. But there are also dry plots of heathland and small-scale deciduous forests. In short: you take a wonderfully varied walk! Via the Tienraijse and Swolgenderheide you walk back to Tienray, also called Klein Lourdes. The church in this pilgrimage town contains a real cave with a statue of Mary.
