Hanseatic city of Harderwijk

Harderwijk is a surprising Hanseatic town. Explore the old center and enjoy the historic atmosphere and coziness. In the area it is wonderfully quiet cycling over the Veluwe. The deeper you drive into the forest, the quieter it gets. Until the forest suddenly opens up, because you drive into the vast Elspeetse Heide. Around Elspeet you can see some characteristic old farms. After driving through the woods for a while, you can enjoy the beautiful view on the edge of the Ermelose Heide. Here is also the site of the only Roman marching camp that the Netherlands has known. The contours of the camp can still be seen in the landscape. At Beach Hotel Monopole it is wonderfully relaxing.
