National Landscape the Drentsche Aa is a wonderful cycling area. In this beautiful stream valley you will find many authentic villages.
The Drenthe Aa
Your starting point for today is Zuidlaren, a village with seven greens. From here you can drive straight into the Drentsche Aa National Landscape, the best-preserved stream and esdorp landscape in Western Europe. Here you cycle through the Drenthe of the past with Saxon farms around the brink, fields on the convex ash and hay meadows in the lower stream valley. An experience in itself, so take your time to take a good look at everything. And enjoy the peace.
Nice villages
With this route you will not only discover the beautiful nature in the north of Drenthe, you will pass through a number of picturesque villages. Such as the ancient green village of Tynaarlo. The cozy Eelde is also worth a visit. Here you will find the cozy terrace of Café Theater G & A Boelens where you can always find a place to enjoy a cup of coffee. On the way back to Zuidlaren you will drive through the Drentsche Aa National Landscape again: beautiful!
