This route takes you through the vast landscape and through some picturesque old villages. A day of fresh air on Walcheren! Just outside Grijpskerke you will pass't Munnikenhof, a former country estate from the thirteenth century. In the seventeenth century, Jacob Cats acquired the castle and wrote most of his poems here. Gapinge is one of the characteristic Zeeland villages on your route. You pass the Mariakerk, a beautiful building from the fifteenth century. A little later you see the Graanhalm, a flour mill from 1864. You can also take the camera out of the bag again in Vrouwenpolder. You will see old farms here, but also the Pilgrim Church from 1622.
