Description
The large heated terrace of Café Theater G & A Boelens in Eelde is the starting point for beautiful bike rides through the versatile environment. Eelde is just in Drenthe, but you soon cycle into Groningen via Paterswolde. Nearby you will find the Paterswoldsemeer, which has been a recreational area since 1900. The Paterswoldsemeer is quite large: after the arrival of the car, the recreation area was enlarged with the Hoornsemeer and the Hoornseplas. In this way, the city residents of Groningen could also be tempted to visit this attraction. Just before you cycle back into Eelde, you pass behind Vennebroek, one of the many estates around Paterswolde. They are being refurbished by Natuurmonumenten to shine again in full glory.
