Description

You depart from Landgoed de Barendonk, a 50 hectare estate consisting of pastureland and arable land that serves the Barendonk Holsteins dairy farm. The house is already mentioned in the 15th century, 1484 to be precise. It was built on a mound, in connection with the Beerse Overlaat.

De Tongelaar is a several centuries old estate. The former castle was in the possession of Jan 1 (Mr van Cuijk) for many years, after which he handed over the castle to Floris V (Graag van Holland). The castle is located on an elevation of extensive swamps and riverine forests, this is called a refuge or motte.
On Saturdays and Sundays it is open for lunch and on the terrace from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The castle and the exhibition can then be visited, the coffee house, the brewery and the field shop are open and there is an information point for the Brabant Landscape.
