Description

You will depart from Landgoed de Barendonk, a 50 hectare estate consisting of pasture and arable land that serves the dairy farm Barendonk Holsteins. The house is already mentioned in the 15th century, to be precise 1484. It is built on a mound, in connection with the Beerse Overlaat.

The Tongelaar is a few centuries old estate. The former castle was owned by Jan 1 (the lord of Cuijk) for many years, after which he transferred the castle to Floris V (Graag of Holland). The castle is situated on a rise of vast marshes and river-accompanying forests, this is called a refuge castle or motte.
On Saturdays and Sundays it is open for lunch and terrace from 10am to 5pm.
The castle and the exhibition can be visited, the coffee house, the brewery and the field shop are open and there is an information point of the Brabants Landschap.
